Testing the Zhiyun Crane too see how it handles the Canon 5D Mark IV with a Rokinon 14mm lens. Shot in "Cinestyle" profile which is a flat profile picture from Technicolor designed specifically for Canon DSLR's. Edited and Graded in Premiere Pro CC. Exported using the Youtube 2160p preset. I think with some practice this will be a powerful combo. The 1.74x crop in 4K is pretty intense as you can see. The 14mm Rokinon looks like a 24mm. I will continue testing this setup.

My 2nd test with the Zhiyun Crane too see how it handles the Canon 5D Mark IV with a Rokinon 14mm lens. Shot in "Cinestyle" profile which is a flat profile picture from Technicolor designed specifically for Canon DSLR's. Edited and Graded in Premiere Pro CC. Exported using the Youtube 2160p preset. With the 1.74x crop in 4K the 14mm Rokinon looks more like 24mm. It's still wide but makes it harder to get smoother looking footage. I updated the firmware which should give the gimbal at 1800g payload. This combo is around 1620g and I don't think a heavier lens would work well. More tests to come!

I recently attended the @art.of.chi meetup in Chicago on April 7th, 2017. @art.of.chi is an Instagram account that features work on Chicago/Illinois. They also host contests and meetups. I showed up to the boat building at North Ave beach and was welcomed by a giant group of photographers armed with DSLRs, point and shoots, and cellphones. The goal of these meetups is too meet new people and to learn from each other. It was also a good opportunity too use my Zhiyun Crane and Canon 5D Mark IV. Everything was shot in 1080/60p in the Cinestyle profile picture using a Canon 24mm F2.8 IS lens, (once we got to the bridge I tried using a Canon 50mm F1.8 STM). Footage was edited in Premiere Pro CC, all the clips were slowed down somewhere between 65% and 40%. There was zero stabilization used on any of the clips. It was graded with Lumetri Color (Fuji Eterna 250D Fuji 3510) I recently tried a Manfrotto 323 RC2 quick release plate because I was getting tired of always having to re-balance the camera but with the quick release it sits too high and I was unable to balance it properly. My favorite part of this combo is having really good auto focus and a touch screen I can tap to rack focus while walking with the gimbal. I still have yet to try the Zhiyun app which might help me dial in some of the weird movements I get sometimes.
